Taking root in Morristown

That would be Roots Steakhouse, which had a grand opening Tuesday, on the ground floor of the old Epstein’s Building, or 40 Park.

It was attended by various officials, including former mayor John  “Jay” DeLaney Jr. and current mayor Tim Dougherty. Let’s hope the restaurant is a success. The renovated complex is key to Morristown’s future economic viability.

Cynics must wonder, however, how many restaurants Morristown can sustain. There are dozens already and opening a new restaurant in less than robust economic times can be problematic. We will see how this turns out.
