The death toll so far is 40

The latest figures show that 40 bear were killed on the first day of the first bear hunt in New Jersey; that really isn’t a lot.

And it shows, I think, that bears in New Jersey are going to be around for a long time; that’s a good thing, not a bad thing.  The answer is for people to get accustomed to living with them,

Forget it. I will NOT accept stepping out my side door and coming face to face with one of these dangerous omnivores. Not today, not tomorrow.

DEP (aka: Fish & Game) has introduced a dangerous crop for NJ hunters to buy licenses to hunt, therefore supporting their salaries! I never saw a bear when I was growing up in NJ in the 50’s until now. I spoke to a former forest ranger and he said they could have
sterilized the males when they had tagging program to monitor the population years back…but didn’t. Oh gee…I wonder why…the blood thirsty hunters would not have anything to shoot at or prove their manhood! Most cut off the heads and paws and kill cubs and leave the bodies rather than eat bear meat. After the blood bath DEP releases the orphans that walk right into my yard. I feel sorry for them…as they are not to blame.
NJ citizens should call for a Sterilization Program to humanely fit this growing problem
for ourselves, our pets and the bears!

Fred a little early with your first day total? You were only off by 200 bears or so…no big deal we have come to expect nothing less from a closet wactivist trying to change public opinion and all.
