Candidate shows "little" class

I have been following the Frank Pallone-Anna Little race from afar; It is an interesting contest – Republican outsider against an entrenched Democtatic incumbent. Voter registration favors Pallone, bit Little is waging an energetic campaign. I must comment on a recent issie.

The Asbury Park Press, a sister newspaper to the Daily Record, endorsed Pallone. That prompted a shrill condemnation from Little’s camp. Here is part of what it said after the editorial mentioned that Little was a Tea Party candidate. This is right off a Little press release.

Translation: As chardonnay-sipping, Brie-munching liberal elitists, we have no idea what is going on with this whole “Tea Party” thing. And because we’ve never had a Tea Party member to one of our cocktail parties, that concerns us.”

Not much class here; someone disagrees with you and you attack them in a juvenile way.  Perhaps Little really isn’t ready for prime time.

But here’s a silver lining. At least, Little thinks newspaper editorials matter.

I guess it is okay and not juvenile when the incumbent won’t debate a strong opponent and gives a flimsy excuse of another commitment – that of talking to supporters instead of facing concerned citizens ready to ask tough questions! That must be the adult thing to do – skulk away?

Entrenched incumbents are ok with the DR except when they are Republicans. By the way Fred, I think their press release was right on so have another sip of that wine and have some cheese. If the ascot fits ware it.
