Anthony Crecco pleads guilty

This really is a sad story … Anthony Creco, a long-time member of the Morris County Tax Board, and a past freeholder candidate, is about to serve jail time for such misdeeds as supporting a government contract for a friend’s company and underreporting the purchase price of a car to avoid part of the sales tax.  (There was also the matter of money missing from a local Elks Club, but Crecco did not plead guilty to that)

I always found Crecco, who was prominent in Morris County Republican circles, to be a helpful guy, It’s a shame when people end their public careers in such a way.
