No debate in Mount Arlington

Art Ondish, the mayor of Mount Arlington, is being challenged this year by an independent Veronica Silkes.

Mount Arlington is a small town with a lot of politics; there are, in fact, two Republican parties. One is pro-Ondish; one is anti-Ondish.

One of them, the Republican club of Mount Arlington, wants to sponsor a debate in October between the mayoral candidates.

But Ondish says he won’t do it.

That’s a shame. After all, I was supposed to be the moderator and I do these things so well.
