The governor and baseball

Everyone knows that Gov. Chris Christie is a baseball fan.  Some may not understand, but true fans will understand completely why the governor says he will spend part of his vacation this month taking his two sons on a baseball car trip.

The governor says he plans to hit six stadiums in six nights. I wonder which ones.

Because I’m old, I’ve been lucky enough to have visited just about every ballpark.

Back in the day, i played baseball with my friends at Roosevelt Stadium in Union City.

But not old enough Fred. I bet you never visited Ebbets Field! Koufax, Newcombe, Podres and Labine, Campanella behind the plate. Robinson, Reese, Gilliam and Hodges at the bases and Amoros, Snider and Furillo in the outfield. A field of dreams, indeed.

  3. Actually, No. But I did go to the Polo Grounds when the Mets played there.

  4. Bob Grant says:

Fred, I rooted for the mets until they came out one day and tried to snort the 3rd base line. Snider, Koufax and company make championships with beer and hot dogs
