Defections in the GOP ranks

Assembly members Mike Carroll and Alison McHose say they will vote against the state budget.
Carroll’s particular gripe is that the budget treats urban areas with “kid gloves” and that it cuts aide to the suburbs. This has been a Republican gripe for a long time. Carroll overlooks the fact that state aid even in a bad, or rather, a horrible, budget year needs to go where it is needed most.

It will be interesting to see if any more Republicans back away from Christie’s budget. That could make approval difficult.

This is no big deal Mike Carrol has never voted for a state in 14 or 15 years. His claim to fame is “I have never vote for a State Budget”

  2. Tom Lenox says:

I always find it refreshing to see dissent in political parties. This just seems to be a waste of time. I’ve always wondered how this guy has kept his job for so long. He claims to be an ultra-conservative, yet wouldn’t that means he would favor term limits? He’s been in office for how long? The only reason he continues to be re-elected is due to the letter to the right of his name. You could run the inanimate object of your choice as a Republican in this district and it would win handily.
