Everyone is happy, or so it seems

As the smoke cleared and the results came in late Tuesday night, John Sette, the county’s Republican chairman,  invited the winning freeholder candidates to join him in the front of the room. This is our team for the fall, Sette said, pointing to incumbent Doug Cabana and newcomers Ann Grossi and Thomas Mastrangelo.

Gross said she was looking forward to working with all the freeholders, “especially Doug Cabana.”  That was a peace gesture of sorts. Grossi had been quite critical of Cabana during the campaign …

Cabana, for his part, noted that ballot position played a role, saying that voters had to look for him “down ballot.” Enough people found Cabana in position number 8, but fellow incumbents Jack Schrier and James Murray were not so fortunate.

It’s all about winning the next race.

Now Mr. Sette has to focus on next Tuesday night’s contest. Any odds on his chances of retaining his crown?

P.S. Where’s the NeddGloat (TM) about Krickus’s spectacular defeat whilst his running mates sprinted to victory??

I would say the odds are that John S runs away with it big time.

I guess all is fair in love, war and politics. All of the candidates did a great job. In this open primary they all made valid points and, worked hard. In November there will be a good team that will work together to help keep Morris county # 1. I wish all of them the best.

  5. No need to “gloat” about Krickus’ embarrassing defeat. The results speak for themselves.
