Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Chris Christie

What do they have in common?

Well, they all seem to have problems with the teachers’ union.

The governor made the connection while talking to reporters after voting in today’s school board election.  He noted that Obama differs with the union over merit pay and that Clinton criticized a leaked memo for a Bergen County teachers’ union leader that wished for Christie’s death.

Christie, whose squabbles with the teachers have  been well documented, said today that if he, Clinton and Obama agree on something it shows how “out of touch” the union is.

“Clinton criticized a leaked memo for a Bergen County teachers’ union leader that wished for Christie’s death.”

So did everybody else, including the NJEA president. Does that mean the NJEA is “out of touch” with itself?

If anybody is out of touch with reality it’s Christie. He’s beginning to act like Captain Ahab on the Pequod obsessing about Moby Dick.

Poor analogy. Moby Dick wasn’t looking to take over the boat, but the NJEA wants to run the state, and some might argue that it has been for the past two decades.

Absent Christie being successful, this could be our future – http://www.city-journal.org/2010/20_2_california-unions.html
