The lovable far right

You read the story about Marcelas Owens, age, 11, whose mother died after losing her health insurance. Sure, proponents of health care reform are using the incident to press their case. But that’s no reason to attack the child as those on the right are doing.

Here’s what Rush Limbaugh had to say, The mom “still would have died,” because all aspects of health reform would take awhile to kick in. Say hello to Mr. Sensitivity.

The right is in a real tizzy if it has to attaack a child.

Rush Limbaugh is the extreme right. And extremely ill.

  2. Kevin Nedd says:

Hold on Fred, I am sure Sarah Palin thinks this was “satire”.

  3. Does Sarah know what satire is? 🙂

  4. hfa says:

Since she majored in Journalism, like you, I think she knows satire.

  5. Kevin Nedd says:

Maybe we should ask Tina Fey if she does.

  6. P says:

Aren’t they a Japanese Tire company?

And in the interest of Fair and Balanced, I’m sure we’ll see a “Lovable Far Left” item soon. 😉 Or if you’re going to claim all Dems/Libs really are lovable, how about “Clueless?”

Probably not, so if you want an extended version of Fred’s story from a difference perspective, click here – http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tim-graham/2010/03/19/mcclatchy-news-whacks-conservatives-objecting-ten-year-old-obamacare-lob

P.S. “Legislation by Anecdote” is what creates the dense layers of rules/regulations that are suffocating this country. Every problem MUST have a government solution.

  7. I truly am lovable, P. 🙂

  8. morrissoothsayer says:

    And wise as well, Fred.

  9. Mark in Rockaway says:

Whether one side exploits the kid’s story for their own benefit or another side attaacks (sic) him, one thing is clear: Party notwithstanding, politics often brings out the very worst in people.

  10. Bob Peterson says:

Fred, what are you talking about? There must be more to this because what you have written makes no sense. I did not hear Rush’s remarks, but what you have quoted has nothing to do with the child. He’s right if you quoted correctly, the mother would have died because the “healthcare plan” will not be operational for several years. What does that have to do with Limbaugh’s sensitivity or lack there of. He was not speaking to or about the child, He was commenting on the exploitation of the child’s situation. Fred if this is the best you’ve got, and, this is the state of your critical thinking, you must be a product of NJ public education. Sorry about that.

  11. Bob Peterson says:

P, thanks for the “full story”. Fred, you should be ashamed of yourself. The Daily Record should be embarrassed to have you on their staff.

  12. Guess what,Bob:
I’m not ashamed at all; the right’s criticism of a child whose mother died is the only embarrassing thing here.

Radio talk show hosts are in busines to get ratings and to make money. There is Howard stern and many others who are laughing all the way to the bank. Smart people read and study issues to find out what is going on. These talk jocks are like “fast food” information. It is not is line with clear thinking. Listen to bloomberg 1130 am. Very good media outlet for real news and data.

    Fred,

I would like to hear Congressman Frelinghuysen’s reaction to reports that Tea People shouted “nigger” at Congressman John Lewis and “faggot” at Congressman Barney Frank, in addition to spitting on Congressman Emanuel Cleaver. Any Tea People here, I would love to hear from you as well.

  16. Bob Peterson says:

    Breezeblock,

Don’t know if I am “officially” a Tea Partier, there is no club of sorts but I have attended and plan to continue attendance at Tea Parties.
I have not heard of any of the incidents you cited. My observation of the people at Tea Parties is that they’re not interested in that kind of thoughtless, cruel behavior. However, there is always a chance that an idiot joined the crowd for cover. Having said that, how were they identified as “Tea People”? Were they at a Tea Party? I doubt any of the individuals listed as having been abused or assaulted would be at a Tea Party. So where did this happen? Did the person or people doing the abusing have a badge or something? How were they identified? Just curious.

  17. Bob:
The incidents described by Breezeblock all occurred yesterday at a demonstartion outside the Capitol,. In fairness, while the protesters were against the health care reform bill, I do not know if they were all Tea Party members.

  18. Bob Peterson says:

    Fred,

Thanks. I hope those individuals were caught/arrested. There is no room for that kind of behavior in public discourse, or private for that matter.

  19. I go to a lot of political rallies … Bottom line is there are idiots on all sides of the political spectrum.

  20. Bob Peterson says:

Your right. We’re not as civilized as we like to pretend.

  21. Tom Lenox says:

Hey Fred, the bill passed the House. Does this mean Rush Limbaugh is going to keep his word and haul his fat @$$ to Costa Rica?

  22. Kevin Nedd says:

This will be another one of Rush’s lies!

  23. Bob Peterson says:

Rush probably won’t leave any more than sarandon and some of those other intellectuals did a couple years ago. I got to tell you though, If Obama was a shot in the arm to the gun industry, and he was, Pelosi is the shot in the arm to the passport industry. What will all of you vunderkins do when the working people leave. Who will pay for you? Just a question.

  24. Bob… I don’t think you have any idea of what you are talking about. You say “the working people” will leave. Why? Because they will be guaranteed health insurance if they do not have it?. That makes no sense at all.
And if health care is your motivation, where would you go? Every other Western country has a health care system with much more government control than envisioned in this one.

  25. ChubbyPaul says:

Snowy, only you understand this healthcare bill! You are a sad man
