The governor and Barberio

Chris Christie met this afternoon with about a dozen mayors from both parties, including Jamie Barberio of Parsippany… So far, we only know from Christie’s Twitter page that it was a “great” meeting.

Hopefully, we will know more soon.

being a newspaper and all, isn’t that your (collective, I know you’re not a reporter) job to know more soon?

  2. In the old days 🙂
Not any longer in this era of scaled back staff and resources

No one from Gannett was there? Pretty soon all the DR will have is this blog!

  4. It was not a public meeting

Any word on what other mayorrs were there? I hope mr christie told them

tto get rid of those opt out free health programs that part time mayors and others get. What a scam that is. Part time elected officials in some towns get paid to not take health benifits. They also.
get a salary. This adds up to two paychecks for a part time job. Oh yes they also get a pension if fo
they fool the voters for 10 years. Times are hard for the taxpayers. But not the elected leaders. Shame on them, more shame on us for being fooled by them.

  6. Chatted with Barberio. it doesn’t seem as if there was much substance to the discussion. The mayor said that the governor impressed upon people how dire the situation is and remarked that answers will be coming when he gives his budget address on Tuesday

Montville Township voted last Tuesday to do away with benefits for part time elected officials. The vote was unanimous. We are trying to get the wording in the ordinance so that future elected officials cannot simply vote to reinstate benefits. We are looking at forcing future elected officials to put this before the voters as a referendum if they try to collect benefits in the future.

    Mr. France,

It seems your needed in Morristown, there appears to be a number of folks calling for your help with Linda and ED R. in morristowngreen.com blogs. Solve Morristown’s problem before tackling Morris County’s issues.

Art, that is great news! Job well done! I hope Morristown will follow your lead. As far as morepark’s thoughts on morristown goes, we have a one party rule in Morristown. There are not checks and balanced.I was born and raised here. I love it here. I do my best. I try to help those in need. I do my best. I pray that people will soon gain wisdom here. I have my eye on the new administration. I am watching what they do. But I need help. The new administration has just hired buddies and money supporters from the last election. They will be reminded by myself and others that they are using our money! They will not have a free ride over the next four years. Many taxpayers are not happy with recent current events here. Morristown is a great place. A few misguided people will not destroy us. There are still some fighters here. Maybe even growing in numbers.

    Thank-you!

Remember the primary, how the town was split in two, his slate, and the old Mayors, his supporters, the bar money, and now all the jobs. We all just want the truth and move forward. Thank-you………………….

France, put a muzzle on yourself. I highly doubt anyone is scared about you watching them except maybe a few of your neighbors when they are undressing and they see binoculars coming from one of your windows. All of those bloggers are just bored angry people that know nothing. Grow up
