It's Furlough Time!

Yep, the rules say I must take a week off. And for me, that week runs from Feb. 7 through Feb. 13.

So, the blog will vanish beginning tomorrow … I will return on the 14th, which is Valentine’s Day. Sweet, no?

Don’t sweat it Fred, we’ll keep your blog alive. Tomorrow, I’ll post something that will set Ted off, and that will keep the peanut gallery hopping.

Sorry about the loss of pay, though.

Valentine’s Day is even sweeter when Fred Snowflack’s birthday is the same date!

A week off? I just assumed this was a volunteer job seeing that you write 8 sentences a week on these blogs.
Enjoy the well needed time off. You earned it.

  5. Morris Optimist says:

How is it that the journalists who are on the front lines of the media are the ones forced into furloughs while the company executives still get bonuses? This is a problem throughout the newspaper publishing industry. It should be the other way around. Anyway, we’ll miss your commentary this week, Fred.

  6. Patsy from 23rd Street says:

hey Morrissoothsayer, i bet you didnt know that Fred had a male elementary school friend named Valentine. I speak the truth.

I know firsthand that a furlough is not easy to take, It has happened to me and I feel for Mr. Snowflak. However, one needs to contemplate the reason readership is down. The Daily Record (Gannett) and many other media outlets simply do not report news impartially. For the most part, there is a liberal bias. There is no denying this and the average reader is tired of it. The average reader sees through the bias and now gets its news from other sources.
