Another new poll…

And this one is better news for Chris Christie.

Public Policy Planning of Raleigh, N.C. reports that Christie is ahead of Gov. Corzine 42 to 38. The group’s last poll had Christie winning by a point.

One Response to Another new poll…

  1. P says:

At this point all the polling, except the Suffolk “poll” confirms that the race is a dead heat as all the “leads” are within the margins of error. Unless there’s a major new story to move the electorate, subsequent polling should show the same.

Key questions – Who has the better GOTV operation? Will Daggett’s (or the anti-establishment) vote remain in the 10 – 15% range, or will people decide to vote for one of the two viable candidates regardless of what they’ve been telling pollsters about voting against Corzine/Christie? If the non-Corzine/Christie vote goes below 10% Corzine is toast. Even at 15% I’d only rate him at 50/50.

The only change in the past week or so is that Christie’s ads seem to be driving Daggett’s negatives up, and his vote down. Unless Corzine/Daggett can find a way to prop him back up, his voters will mostly move to Christie (or possibly not vote).

Race is a toss up, but if you gave me a million dollars and told me that I had to bet it on one candidate, even odds, I would put it on Christie.

I think that people are still upset with the status quo and want Change (thank you Barack Obama!). You see it in Corzine’s negatives and the right track/wrong track numbers in every poll.
