Sierra Club and Daggett

In endorsing Chris Daggett today, the Sierra Club said of him …

“He has demonstrated his willingness to stand up to special interests and politicians to do what’s right for the environment. It’s very rare when you have the opportunity to endorse someone of such principle and integrity with a broad background in environmental issues.”

So, which candidate does Dagggett hurt more? It is true that the Sierra Club is a Democratic leaning group, so you would think Daggett would hurt Corzine more … Then again, those unhappy with Corzine may vote for Daggett rather than Christie.

On ethics and corruption independent voters will likely lean towards Daggett, especially as more dirt is dug up on Christie’s cronies.

If Corzine shores up his base and Daggett takes independent votes away from Christie we may have an upset come November.

It’s a good endorsement to have for an independent candidate. I’m so sick of the two party stranglehold in this state, that I’ll vote for any independent who can present a clear vision of how to get NJ back to some semblance of functional behavior.
