Bucco's advantage

Mike Carroll reports that he got a call from a guy who said he had just received a piece from Tony Bucco. He added, “That picture must be from 30 years ago and 50 pounds ago; If I didn’t know better, I’d swear it was his son.”

Of course, it is his (the senator’s) son). Clearly, having the name, Tony Bucco, is going to help the younger Bucco in the Assembly primary.

We fought a Revolutionary War in this country (and right here in Morris County) to prevent practices like having family dynasties rule the people. Anyone who votes for the younger Bucco will possibly give him the opportunity to be the next generation of his family’s dynasty. The guy has NEVER HELD ANY POLITICAL OFFICE! Still, he wants to skip all the intermediate steps and start at the top. He doesn’t want to work his way up the hard way.

Am I the only person out there who thinks people should gain some REAL hands-on local elected experience before running for higher office? I talked today to a neighbor (senior citizen) who thought Senator Bucco who just running for a different office. The younger Bucco may be a municipal lawyer, but at least Carroll and Cabana have not just talked the talk, they’ve walked the walk.

That brings up another issue: Why are most politicians lawyers by profession?

Would it surprise you to know that Mike and Rick of the 25th district never held local office before going to the assembly? The assembly is filled with first timers. To the larger point you do not know Anthony Bucco the Assembly candidate, because if you did you would know that he is his own man and he has a record of service to our community that anyone would be very proud of. I would ask the voters to judge Anthony but make sure you know all the facts before you do. The Bucco family has a great record of public service and there is no dynasty. If the voters are lucky enough to vote Cabana and Bucco to the assembly we will be well represented.

NCM the kind of crap you are spewing is just the thing that makes the voters sick. I would venture to say that none of the other candidates would support your kind of personal attacks. You should apologies and go away in the hopes that no one finds out your real identity.

    Ed,

There was no personal attack in my comments. I don’t think that people from the same family should dominate the few positions in state politics.

Also, even if Carroll and Merkt didn’t hold local offices, they were still running as individuals, NOT trumpeting their family names. Don’t try to tell me that the younger Bucco hasn’t been doing that.
