Troubling news for Christie

Today’s Quinnipiac University Poll shows that there may be a race for the Republican gybernatorial nomination after all …

The poll showed that Chris Christie leads Steve Lonegan by only nine points; 46 to 37.

Christie, so far, has avoided criticizing Lonegan and has saved most of his rhetoric for Gov. Jon Corzine.  It may be wise for him to re-think his strategy.

We have to send you back to comprehensive reading class. If you had read the story in its full measure you have learned that they tighten the poll sample to most likely voters from registered voters. By doing that the poll would normally be tighter because conservatives vote in primaries at a higher rate, and the more moderate voters usually miss the primary. The key to this story is that Christie is only six points for the 50 percent mark and once he reaches that point it is over for everyone else.

Yes, but likely voters are a better gauge, no?

Are you suggesting Chris Christie (or anyone running for office) join Lonegan in the gutter from which he is campaigning?

So Fred, who do you think wins, and what will be the spread? Want to get you on the record, unlike the “many” “predication” from yesterday.

  5. Ed Ramirez says:

Yes it is a better gauge but the currant poll does not mean that Christie is in trouble, it just gives a better view of the race.

  6. Well, Ed, if your lead shrinks, that is a problem. no>

“P” wants to know the spread. I have no idea — this ain’t a football game.

  7. Ed Ramirez says:

The sored is nine points – No
