500!
MERKT’S ‘RUNNING’ CAMPAIGN FOR GOVERNOR HITS NEW MILESTONE

Assemblyman Richard Merkt announced this morning that his “running” campaign for Governor yesterday stretched into its 500th municipality. Since last September, Merkt has run in every municipality in 16 of New Jersey’s 21 counties. He has vowed to run in every one of New Jersey’s 566 municipalities before the June primary election for Governor, a goal that now seems well within reach.

“We crossed the 500-town threshold yesterday in Monmouth County,” remarked Merkt. “The weather was outstanding for February, and we are rapidly closing in on our goal of running in every municipality in New Jersey before the primary.”

Merkt noted that his “running” campaign has doubled as a valuable listening tour throughout New Jersey, giving him a better understanding of both his home state and what local residents think about key state issues.” .
